There are two options you have when it comes to attitude. Have a positive or negative one. The choice is always yours. I am not going to tell you that being positive all the time is always easy, because it is not. There are many things that can happen to change that. You lose your job. You get sick. You get into an argument with someone. You get dumped. All these things happen to people on a daily basis. However, from my experiences I have learned that having a positive outlook on things can help you deal with things better.
Think about this: How is a negative attitude going to help things get better? I doesn’t. It gets you more angry. It gets you to make poor decisions. It doesn’t make the situation better. In fact, having a negative attitude only raises your blood pressure and makes things even worse.
I am not saying that you will always have a great day, and you’ll always feel like smiling. In fact, it is important to have some bad days. It makes you appreciate the good days even more. In fact, you can even take a a bad day or feeling and turn things around for yourself.
I recently left a company after 12 great years. It was one of the biggest and life altering choices that I have made in a long time. I have begun to look at what my next career move/opportunity will be. I thought I would have figured it out and closed off months earlier. Unfortunately it hasn’t been the case. I have had many setbacks, and many days of sadness and frustration. However, the most amazing thing that has come out of it is that I have valued the importance of life, and what is really important.
It would be so easy to be negative and just get upset with everyone and myself. However, I haven’t done so, and will continue on my path. I know I am getting closer to my end goal and my next chapter has already begun. I have focused on the positives during this time. I finished school, travelled to various parts of the world, and finally been able to launch a blog. The best part is the amazing love and support I have gotten from my family and friends.
It is important to always be and stay positive as much as possible. Not only will you be happier; you will motivate and inspire others to do the same.
