2014 for me was a year of exciting challenges and changes for me. After leaving my previous company after 12 years, I knew that major challenges were ahead. I was in a situation that many will never experience in their lifetimes. I had the opportunity to take some time off to relax, travel and just kick my feet up for a while. However, I knew that at some point it would be time to make some serious decisions on what my next career move would be. It was also a time to figure out what I wanted from life overall.
From the outside looking in, most will look at me and see that I have a lot going for me. I’m positive and motivated. Very intelligent. I have a good home and car. I stay in shape, and have a strong support group. Despite having a lot of things to be grateful for, I was very nervous about what my future would be. Calculating my finances, I knew that by early 2015 I would not have the resources to cover my way of living. By the time summer came around, I began to look at various job opportunities, and also decided that it was time to start blogging.
For my blog, I wanted to have a blog that would help inspire people to be a better version of themselves. What I didn’t expect was that blogging would help me overcome my darkest moments. There were the failed interviews. The disappointment of another relationship not working out. The friends not being around, as they were busy living their lives and taking care of their priorities. The individuals reminding you of how challenging the job hunt is. It got to the point where I knew I had to find positive things to focus on, and that would build momentum to something greater.
I went on various trips, trained at my gym, focused on completing school, and then just began launching and writing my blog. Blogging helped take my mind off many things, and it enabled me to come up with ways to inspire myself and others. Being able to share positive quotes, affirmations, and just inspiring stories is a great feeling. Knowing that people are inspired by what you write motivated me to continue writing.
I don’t know what my future holds in terms of blogging. I know that being back to work and having the time to blog has made things more challenging to write. However, I have fallen in love with blogging. It helps me to tell my personal stories. My life lessons, and how it’s great to help others become better. In return, it has inspired me to live the best life possible. Thanks to all those who have supported and shared my blog. I will continue to write and inspire you some more.
Happy Friday everyone!!
