Here’s a picture of myself in a restaurant in Montreal back in February 2010. I remember this trip all too well. It was a great time visiting a great city, and catching up with friends. When I look back to my earlier years, I always made sure to enjoy life to the fullest. There were financial limitations to enjoying life during these times, but I always found a way to make it happen. Having a balance in our lives is one of the most important things to have. It is one of the things many of us lose sight on, including myself at times. Last year was a great reminder to living a balanced and happy life.
P.Diddy isn’t fully correct when he sang “It’s All About the Benjamins”. Yes a great video and song, but life is more than just about having money. It’s about doing the things that make us smile. It’s about doing the things that make us want to live it to the fullest. It’s about doing the things that motivate us to be the best that we can be. I think that is where I went wrong in my earlier years with my life. I forgot to not only put 100% effort into my career, also in my personal life. I wish it is something that I learned earlier. Maybe I could have saved more friendships. Maybe I would have been out of the dating game. Maybe I would have been happier sooner. However, these are all just maybes.
It’s now 2015, and I have a better balance in my life. It still requires time and effort, but I feel it is worth it. I want to continue doing the things that I love. Spending time with family and friends, travelling, going to the movies, and seeing more of the Toronto Blue Jays and Raptors in action. Whatever your definition of happiness is, just make sure it is the life that has your full balance. You find the balance; great things will follow you!
Have a great week everyone!
