This Super Bowl weekend was a lot of fun.
Before watching the big game between the Carolina Panthers & Denver Broncos, I was at the Motionball fundraiser event.
It was an event to remember. I got the chance to meet Special Olympic athletes, do my first silent auction, and celebrities like Cabbie Richards from TSN Presents.
One of the biggest moments of the night was meeting Glen Grunwald . For many who do not know who this man is, he’s the former General Manager of the Toronto Raptors. He was the man behind bringing Vince Carter to the Raptors. He’s a class act and is now the director of athletics at McMaster University.
On Saturday night, I got the chance to watch the NFL Honors award. The moments that touched my heart the most on this night were the following:
- J.J. Watt’s message to people doubting him. Inspirational
- Eric Berry’s Comeback of the Year speech. Touching
- Anquan Boldin’s Walter Payton Man of the Year speech. Heartfelt
- Cam Newton’s MVP speech. All class
I was moved by all of these speeches. Each individual has had to overcome a lot in their lives. Their struggles and their triumphs are lessons for us all to learn from.
And of course the Super Bowl game itself. Having fun debates and discussions is always a good thing. That’s what I love about Super Bowl weekend: Brings people together.
Congratulations to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos on their victory. I didn’t believe they could win. Now Peyton Manning gets to ride off into the sunset, should he decide to retire.
It has been a great weekend, and I hope all of you had a great one as well. Another busy week ahead. However, this weekend was a reminder of never forgetting that life is awesome; little things matter and can make you happy!
